Gesta Danorum – Deeds of the Danes
In the early years of the thirteenth century the Danish writer Saxo Grammaticus provided his people with a History of the Danes, an account
of their glorious past from the legendary kings and heroes of Denmark to
king Gorm. It is one of the major sources for the heroic and
mythological traditions of northern Europe, though the complex Latin
style and the wide range of material brought together from different
sources have limited its use.

Charles Williams - The Greater Trumps
THE GREATER TRUMPS by Charles Williams
The original Tarot deck is used to unlock enormous metaphysical powers by allowing the possessors to see across space and time, create matter, and raise powerful natural storms. Upon an ancient golden table, golden figurines perpetually move "by some magnetism of the Earth" to the "Great Dance" - that is, the rhythm of all things that happen in this world. The table and figurines are half of a set. The other half is the original Tarot cards. Together, it is believed, they have the power to explain eachother's mysteries, and maybe even manipulate time, space, and the elements.
By some great coincidence, or movement of the Dance, two families are brought together who each have one half of the set.
But when the pieces are reunited, all hell...and heaven break loose!
No 35 in Dennis Wheatley Library of the Occult.

Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before navigable aircraft and practical submarines were invented, and before any means of space travel had been devised. He is the third most translated author of all time. His prominent novels have been made into films. Verne, along with H. G. Wells, is often referred to as the "Father of Science Fiction". Alexandre Dumas - The Wolf Leader
The Wolf Leader by Alexandre Dumas
The Wolf Leader is set around 1780 in Dumas' native town of Villers-Cotterêts, and is supposedly based on a local folk-tale Dumas heard as a child.
The story concerns Thibault, a shoe-maker, who is beaten by the gamekeeper of the Lord of Vez for interfering with the lord's hunting. Afterwards he encounters a huge wolf, walking on its hind legs like a man, who offers him vengeance; Thibault may wish harm on any person in return for one of his own hairs for each wish. To seal the agreement, the two exchange rings. As a result of this bargain he also finds himself able to command the local wolves, and hence gradually gains the reputation of being a werewolf.
Thibault's first two wishes kill the gamekeeper and injure the Lord of Vez. The wishes turn two hairs on his head long and red, as do his subsequent ones, which, though equally successful, also backfire against him in unexpected ways, leaving him scorned and hated by others in his community.

Recension i Nya Dagbladet.
